This week...

Yesterday in our monthly all staff meeting we reflected on this verse that describes our focus in ministry:

Colossians 1:28-29 "He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.  To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me."

Our lives are truly about Him, and making disciples.  It isn't about us. Our focus is outward and our lives are passionately dedicated to that purpose.  It has been great hosting missionaries Gary and Paula Hay (www.thinksmallfoundation.org).  The ministry that God is doing through them in Thailand is truly remarkable.

This afternoon Ron and Susan Pinkston are arriving, and they will be with us through the weekend.  They are the supervisors of the Central Pacific District of Foursquare Churches, overseeing approximately 200 churches in Northern California and parts of Utah and Nevada.  It will be his first visit to our divisional meeting.  He also will be speaking in our weekend services at Faith Center (www.eurekafaithcenter.org).  Heidi and I consider them to be both friends and mentors.

Yesterday I completed a grant application.  If we receive the grant, it will allow us to broadcast our services on our local ABC television station.  We need to upgrade some our equipment and purchase closed captioning software in order to be able to do this.  Praying that this will go through.  It would be a great blessing to Faith Center.

This morning I’ll be working on our next sermon series, which starts the second weekend in September.  Stay tuned!

Vacation!  Heidi and I are taking a vacation next week, and I am especially looking forward to being with our children, seeing my brothers and relaxing for a while.

Thank you, Matt and Heidi!!! It is a blessing for Paula and I to visit and share with Faith Center people! We have been inspired beyond what we can offer to you....We'll take back great memories and new friendships to Thailand! And count the months till we return to visit again!! By the way, if you go to www.thinksmallgospel.org it might be more appropriate for Christians than the www.thinksmallfoundation.org site! God bless!!

Matt, Heidi and the incredible people at Faith Center: We have been amazingly blessed by our visit. Your passion, heart for worship and dedication to God's vision is so inspiring to both of us! Thank you for your willingness to host us this week--We will pray for you and count the months until we visit again next year! By the way, the website www.thinksmallgospel.org would be a more appropriate website for 'believers' since the 'foundation' website is primarily for non-believers. God bless!!!
